Hardware support
Support levels for boards and parts, and how hardware is grounded.
The hardware catalog
Boards and parts are records in a versioned catalog. A record holds pins, power rails, buses, addresses, the library to use, and the sources the facts came from. HardwareOS selects records by identifier and takes electrical facts from them. When a part is not in the catalog the plan says so, and wiring for it is set manually.
Support levels
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Listed | The name and sources are known. Pins, voltages and library have not been checked. |
| Wired | Pins, power, buses and library were checked against published sources. No test build exists. |
| Built | A test project for it compiled successfully. |
| Verified | It was flashed on real hardware and read back. |
| Partner | The maker confirmed the facts. |
The Hardware library lists the level of each record. Prefer Built or higher for a first project.
Safety
- Check wiring and voltages against the datasheet before you power a board.
- Do not use generated firmware for safety-critical or mains-powered designs.
